Hi, I am Amanda Newman.

I'm a Mum of 2 beautiful children and a Wife to my high school sweetheart. I'm also a Photographer who loves to capture all the moments that might go unseen. I see the beautiful, little moments that you may not and they are always my favourites.

I'm a coffee addicted adventure seeker, will try basically anything especially if it scares the crap out of me and I absolutely love scaring people. Although I get so much joy out of planning events, I really enjoy spontaneity and just going to do last minute, exciting things.

I live in a tiny country town in South East Queensland called Pittsworth. Think tiny as in no traffic lights, one pub, a safe place for your children to go play at the creek and the friendliest people who always want to chat.

As a family when we aren't all hands on deck renovating our 100 year old cottage, we like to be outside in the sunshine, on bush walks finding new waterfalls, fishing, kayaking or doing spontaneous day trips to the beach - 3 hours away - these guys know how much I *really* love the beach and if I have a coffee in hand to watch the sunrise I'm at my happiest. One time on a 3 week trip travelling Bali, they all even woke up at 3am and came with me in a few hour car ride to do a very difficult climb up an active volcano for sunrise - these guys love me a lot. (this is the photo at the bottom of the page) Add to that, our son came skydiving with me for his 12th birthday, he definitely inherited my need for adventure!

As you can see I love to travel and explore new places and I will come to you wherever you may be.

Growing up all I wanted was to be a Mum. Then I became a Mum and learnt quickly I also wanted to be more, so in 2008, the same year my son was born, I officially started my business - Amanda Newman Photography.

Prior to having our children, when I was about 16 years old I had learnt the basics of Photography with a work friend through the beauty of a Film Camera and a Dark Room. After the Dark Room, my husband brought me my first SLR Film Camera for my 18th birthday and I learnt to shoot in Manual mode. Truthfully, I think it was the best way to learn. There's nothing quite like a learning curve then saving all your money for rolls of film, going out and taking photos, while writing down what camera settings you used for each photo then rushing out to get it developed and seeing what you got right - and wrong.

Since then, I have captured everything through either photos or video with either my camera or my phone -my morning coffee, my walks, my cooking -I capture it all. I don't want to miss a thing.

When photographing my clients, I think it's so important to make them feel good. Take away the stress of planning your photo shoot, the outfits, the tantrums. When you come to our session I want you to feel comfortable and confident that I will capture stunning, authentic photos for you.

By the end of my sessions, even if photographing a stranger, they always feel like a friend.

I want you to walk away relieved and so glad that you booked, and then continue to book again.

I really can't wait to have a chat with you and I would be so happy to meet to update your portraits - whatever kind that may be.
